I don’t like the merchants who want me reply directly to their system. Basically, I don’t want to learn any new system such as cut and paste e-mails when this seems not to work. I will ignore those merchants and simply throw the catalogs away when they come in. I sort my mail over the recycle bin so it is a short throw. I want the system simple and consistent just like CatalogChoice has it.
Lena, thanks for the great compliment about Catalog Choice! We know the most convenient way to remove your name is to have the mailer honor requests through our free, automated service. Alas, not every mailer participates in Catalog Choice and we take our obligation to deliver all requests seriously. That’s why you’ll see a merchant’s form or email for some companies. While not perfect, it gives consumers a way to make opt-out requests with mailers who have chosen not to participate in Catalog Choice. Again, thanks for your comment; we love receiving feedback from our members.
