Kind words from a member

I awoke this morning to read this email from a Catalog Choice member.  It made my day.

My husband and I are so appreciative of the stupendous job your
organization is doing. We used to receive a ridiculous load of
catalogs year round, 99% of which we never even looked at. Nowadays,
our mailbox and our garbage can are blissfully free of unnecessary
and wasteful material. Many thanks.

Thanks for taking a moment to write.  It makes our job so worthwhile.

I just read your note and wish I could have the same fuzzy feeling: I have a question that I hope someone can give me an answer to. I made the unfortunate mistake of purchasing something from “Restoration Hardware” , once in Vancouver and once in Michigan… Since then (two years is the earlier) I have received over 50 catalogues. I asked them NOT to put me on a mailing list when in both stores for the purchase and then each time I receive the unwanted catalogues, I immediately call and have my name removed. I’ve tried this over 50 times now with no success. I have tried to speak with a manager, the vice-president of marketing and still, today, when I arrive home, a 212 page glossy catalogue plagues me at my door. I am a ‘save the trees’ kind of girl, have regretted my few small purchases which have led me to now HATE RESTORATION HARDWARE!!!!! Please let me know what else I can do for this injustice to trees (think of the millions of others that have just been immediately blue boxing these useless catalogues the minute they arrive)…. Please give me other suggestions. Thanks,
    C. from Canada

Funny. We have purchased *many* things from RH and stopped getting their catalog a couple years ago without saying anything to them or using any service.

I started using your service 1 1/2 yrs ago and am glad to say that my mailbox is now EMPTY!!! I thank you, my maillady thanks you too!! It took almost a year of unrelenting work, but has been worth the effort on both of our parts. I used to receive about 100 catalogs a week, now its down to 2-3 per week. Thanks for all your help.

Since July 1 of this year, a period of 11 and a half weeks, my partner and I have received a total of three catalogs, all from the same company. After a number of email “conferences,” that company seems to have gotten the message, as the last catalog of the three catalogs arrived over a month ago.
